Biography

For the last 40 years plus I have been working and developing my pottery.  I’ve also worked as a Commercial Artist, Advertising Artist. I  taught Art and Graphic Design for 27 years.

My pottery and clay work progressed from functional forms under Ishmael Soto to smoke and pit fired sculptures with Steve Reynolds.  Since moving to Ingleside on the coast in the late 70’s,I have been incorporating seaweed, turtle grass, oxides, elements and various hardwood sawdust to develop my current style.

The organic coastal qualities of my work are a reflection of my lifelong experiences near beaches, bays and nature. For me clay is an art form for visual and tactile involvement.  The surface quality speaks to me and those who encounter it.
